ABOUT US

At this time we are unfortanly not allowed to breed amstaffs in Norway. In august 2004 the gournement in Norway choose to forbid this wonderful breed. This is a true tragedy and make no sence at all. We had one litter in cooperation with Anna Nåman in Sweden as she co-owned a dog from us in 2005. A pick of the litter pup we had from kennel Masterbolt, out of ch Geminero Thirtysomething.
Our main goal is to breed healthy dogs, as close to the standard as we understand it.
For us - many things counts when selectin a dog for breeding. It is not enough that the dogs confirmation is good and has done well at shows. It is also very important that the dogs general health is good and of course has a good temprament. Temprament, health and good confirmation are very important factors to us and they all count the same - none of them are to be penalized.
Our dogs are confident and behave well in any kind of enviroment, such as city streets with a lot of noise and people as well as the quiet countryside. All of our dogs lives inside the house as familymembers. We do not believe in keeping lots of dogs in a kennel. We belive in quality not quantity.
All puppies are of course born inside the house and we spend a lot of time socializing and handling the puppies before they are given to their new owners. We also think it is very important to find a pup that suites the person who buys it, and we work hard to prefill all kinds of wishes. It is very important for us that both the puppy and the new owner get the best start we can give them. We do not breed often, we only breed about one litter per year, but maybe two if a really interesting combination comes up.
All of our dogs are x-rayed and goes thru a health check before we even think about breeding them. We will not use dogs that are not x-rayed, neither would we breed a dog with such defects as hip dysplasia, hearthproblems etc.  All puppies are delivered with health certificates and with all their shots. They are of course also microchipped.

About us in Geminero kennels:
We are two people cooperating in this kennel. We are Kjersti Roland and Annette Skadsdammen.
Me and Annette has both a great passion for animal and especially our dogs. We both have several house dogs at home and we both have been involved in trottinghorses. I have an old retired trotting horse called Indian Champion. Unfortanly Annette had to sell her very promising trottinghorse Børkeprinsen last year - this is something we both regret badly cause that horse is a true winner. But in 2006 Annette could not be without horses and she bought Athena Rod. A beautyfull trotting horse that is starting to look very nice and promising.

Kjersti:

Dogs have been in my life almost since I was a newborn. They are truly my greatest passion. My familyhave always kept dogs. The first one that I can remebmer was a golden retriver - a really lovely dog with a golden heart. She became an old lady too - being over tirtheen years old, when she passed away.

For some years I had Bouvier Des flandres, who where my favourite breed until I met the Amstaffs. I hadtwo Bouviers, Leo - the first one - passed away six years old of cancer. Basse - the second one - is nowretired from the show ring and lives with my parents.

Amstaffs has been my breed since 1995 and I have no plans on going back to the Bouviers. Amstaff is the perfect dog for me - always happy, outgoing and willing to please. My x-boyfriend tried to buy an amstaff in 1993 but it was very hard to get in touch with anyone. The few breeders in Norway at that time was not very easy to talk to and there where very little information on this dogs. The confirmation on the dogs at that time was not much to talk about either - and this was important for us as we had big ambitions on showing him.

In january 1995 we heard that a litter was born in Bergen - I think we where there the next day... Finally we became owners of a wonderful male amstaff called Hector (Swe Norw ch NW-96-97-98 Bergstaffs Al Pacino). After meeting such a wonderful and fantastic dog my heart was stolen by the amstaffs...

In 1997 I brought home another amstaff from Bergstaffs. A female that I co-owned with Linn and Bengt at Bergstaffs kennel. They would have the first litter - then she would be fully owned by me. Mischa (S Nuch Nordv-98 Nv-99-00-02 Bergstaffs Betty M) is all you ever want in a dog and she is also Geminero kennels foundation bitch.

I met Annette when she bought Bob from Mischas first litter.

Annette:

In 1999 Annette got Bob (Bergstaff's Daydreamer out of Mischa and Michl R Nothing up my Steve). I dont think he has disapointed her in any way in her impression of the Amstaff. After some months with such a dog they where just sold! Dobermans and Golden Retrievers could not compete with such a dog. A big extra bonus was also that Bob is a very nice lokking dog that has taken many great wins in the showring with Annette as a handler.

Annette had several dogs in the past. The two first was also Golden retrievers, so I guess we have something in common. Annette is very soft hearted and several abused animals has found a home in her house. One of them is the doberman Toya. She is now a very stabil and nice dog, wich now lives with Annettes former boyfriend, Roger.

Besides Bob doberman female Ebony and our two amstaffs Mattis and Wilma lives together with Annette, Bråd and their little son Sondre.
